Patricia Martin is one such candid and courageous woman. When I was a young lass trying to forge my way in a lad dominated advertising world, she grabbed me by the hand, and yanked me up in mentorship.

When I first met Pat Martin as a fellow judge at an advertising competition, she immediately took me under her wing. I think she saw a little of herself in me and was dedicated to kindling this potential she had a knack for spotting. Giving me harsh but necessary advice and introducing me to influential and gifted people, she steered me through the advertising field and guided me throughout a successful career. Not only did Patricia help me, but she also sought out other aspiring advertising professionals to mentor and inspire.

Wishing to share her invaluable gift of compassion and guidance, I developed a scholarship in Pat's honor to perpetuate her legacy of mentorship and to cultivate talented and needed rookies in the advertising business.

To be considered for the annual Patricia Martin Scholarship, a young advertising professional must be nominated by a member of the American Advertising Federation for her (or his) passion for the business, dedication to giving back, and demonstrated talent in some aspect of the field.
